Well-known Boyle GAA family the Smiths have been chosen as the recipients of the Dermot Earley Family Award which will be presented at the 2019 GAA President’s Awards on March 8th. This award is in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the GAA.
Cian Smith was a member of the Roscommon minor team who won the All-Ireland title in 2006 and has been involved with Boyle GAA teams for many years both as a player and a mentor. Enda and Donie Smith have been regulars on Roscommon county teams over the years from underage to senior level and both hardly ever miss a club game.
Parents Mike and Mary are also steeped in the GAA. Mike is a former Roscommon and Boyle player at all levels and both have been involved with the Boyle club for many years.
The presentation will be held in the Hogan Suite in Croke Park commencing at 6.30 pm on Friday, March 8th. There will be live TV screening from 7.15 pm.
