Forget the faraway hills!
Independent Councillor Domnick Connolly has appealed to the people of Roscommon to shop local this Christmas season.
Issuing a press statement, he said: “People should shop local at all times, but especially this Christmas.
“Faraway hills always look green, but there is great value to be had locally, and most importantly, local jobs will be kept local if people spend their money in their own towns and villages.
“People should keep in mind that the shopkeepers in Enniskillen and Newry will not support any local organisations here in Roscommon, and they will not give any part-time jobs to Roscommon students during the summer months. So once again I am appealing for people to shop local and make it a happy Christmas for the local economy”, he concluded.
