Shiven Rovers and Lough Harps edge closer

DOONER’S WEEKEND PREDICTIONS

Last weekend saw goals aplenty across Europe and the RDFL, even Danny Welbeck and Kolo Toure got in on the act! It was a very good weekend for Ballinasloe Town, Shiven Rovers and Lough Harps as well as Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool. On that note I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Liverpool fans and Joleon Lescott back to social media.

With the weather picking up a bit over the last few days, hopefully this weekend will see more games and goals.

Saturday, 20th February

The Herald Premier Division (7.45 pm)

Castlerea Celtic v Dysart FC: Castlerea didn’t play last weekend while Dysart were beaten. This weekend Castlerea will need to win to be able to take advantage of games in hand over the leaders. Prediction: Castlerea Celtic.

Ballymoe FC v Ballinasloe Town: First against third in this game which could go a long way to deciding the destination of this year’s league title. Ballinasloe look unstoppable right now and the smart money is on them. Prediction: Ballinasloe Town.

Killeen Sports Gound Division 2 (7.45 pm)

Moore United B v St. John’s Athletic B: St. John’s were convincingly swept away last weekend and are up against it again this weekend. Prediction: Moore United B.

Sunday, 21st February

Premier Division

Ballaghaderreen FC v Cloonfad United: Ballaghaderreen have had quite a few disappointing results of late and simply have to win this game to keep their slim title hopes alive. Prediction: Ballaghaderreen FC.

MD Town v St. John’s Athletic: MD have had a season of struggles and the visitors will be looking to push on. Prediction: St. John’s Athletic.

Skyvalley Rovers v Moore United: Moore are looking to push the league leaders all the way and a win in this one will keep the pressure on. Prediction: Moore United.

Division 1 (2 pm)

Ahascragh United v Kilkerrin United: Tough day at the office for Kilkerrin last time out and Ahascragh will be no easy task this weekend. The visitors will be hoping for some sort of response. Prediction: Draw.

Loughglynn United v Shiven Rovers: Shiven are simply steam rolling their way through this division and Loughglynn will have to be at their very best to get anything out of this one. Prediction: Shiven Rovers.

Ballaghaderreen B v Rahara Rovers (11.30 am): This should be an interesting game between two sides who badly need the points. Rahara will be looking to pile more misery onto the bottom club. Prediction: Rahara Rovers.

Division 2 (2 pm)

Skyvalley Rovers B v Moylough 79 – (11.30 am): Big, big game. Skyvalley need to respond following last weekend’s defeat. Prediction: Skyvalley Rovers B.

KC Celtic v MD Town B: MD Town should have enough to see of the home side. Prediction: MD Town.

Lough Harps v  Cloonfad United B: The Lough Harps league title procession should continue unchecked this weekend. Prediction: Lough Harps.

Roscommon United v CP Ajax: Really impressed with United last weekend but CP Ajax will provide difficult opposition. Prediction: Draw.
