It has been a hectic and thoroughly enjoyable weekend for both boys and girls at Community Games soccer. Saturday last saw the boys compete in the County semi-final against Fourmilehouse. After winning their first game 1-0 they went on to meet Ballaghaderreen, who on the day proved too strong for our boys and we exited the competition. Girls U-13 also competed over the weekend and won their first game against Ballinameen on a scoreline of 3-0. They then advanced to the final against AFK and unfortunately were on the losing end of this encounter. Boys U-15 reached the final against Strokestown. While they put up a great performance and worked tirelessly it was not to be their day, eventually losing out to Strokestown on the narrowest of margins. Our heartiest congratulations to all three teams involved in these competitions. Well done to all concerned – it was truly an enjoyable Community Games Soccer weekend.
