Select stunning Mount Falcon for your special day

The stunning Mount Falcon Estate was created in 1872 as a remarkable expression of love by Utred Knox; a symbol of his devotion to Miss Nina Gore. Unsurprisingly, the symbol cemented their marriage. To this day Mount Falcon continues to provide an idyllic backdrop, a wonderful setting for local romance and expressions of deep love.

Mount Falcon’s Events Executive is Maura Moran, a passionate and dedicated Wedding Coordinator.

She says: “Weddings at Mount Falcon offer luxury and exclusivity. We design and plan each wedding specifically around the wishes and budget of the happy couple. We work hard to ensure everyone has a wonderful day, full of warmth and love in the midst of a truly splendid party.

“Our weddings are as different as our wonderful couples. We’ve had sunny, summer weddings with champagne and strawberries on our manicured open lawns. Dinner followed by fireworks viewing on the terrace. Equally, we love our a winter weddings, with mulled wine receptions and cosy turf fires – ensuring everyone gets chatting and relaxed as soon as they arrive at the wedding party. We’ve released a myriad of lanterns into beautiful winter skies in celebration of love and togetherness. We’ve had richly decorated marquees; stunning stylish additions to Mount Falcon’s wonderful setting.

“We’ve even rescued the day…” Maura recalls of an incident a couple of years ago. “One of our winter weddings turned into a real snowy wonderland but this brought travel problems for one very important person. But Mount Falcon’s handsome groundskeepers came to the rescue by going all ‘James Bond’ for the occasion. They ventured through really bad snowfall to Leitrim, dug the groom’s car out of a ditch and got him safely to the wedding, on time! We really do love our wedding couples.”

Set on a 100-acre estate Mount Falcon offers 32 bedrooms of 4-star deluxe in the Country House Hotel and has a large selection of luxury lodges, to accommodate all wedding guests.  The lodges are mere minutes’ walk from the main house so everyone can stay together, which is exactly what you want if you’re creating a special weekend atmosphere.

In addition to a superb setting, the wedding team know that ‘at the heart of a wonderful wedding reception is great food’; and with 2 AA Rosettes Head Chef, Daniel Willimont and his team, they ensure this tradition is maintained throughout the special day. Daniel is so dedicated to fresh ingredients that much of the produce is grown on the estate.

Then there’s the Mount Falcon Spa for pre-wedding pampering. It has all the treatments you’d expect from a top end spa: facials, tans, make-up, Gelish gel polish, relaxing massage therapy and lots more. Our terrific therapists provide that little extra touch for the bridal party who can relax, whilst in capable hands and enjoy being with each other.

And for the groom’s party, Mount Falcon offers some relaxing action with seasonal Wild Atlantic salmon fishing, fly fishing for rainbow trout on the private lake, archery, clay pigeon shooting or a chance to hit a few balls from the golf driving range. There’s always a relaxation massage in the Spa if it all gets too stressful!
