Seeking volunteers for Summer Project

The Irish Association for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalous (IASBAH) is in need of volunteers for their Summer Project, which is an extensive range of activities, challenges and fun for its members with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus nationwide. It caters for all ages and abilities and will take place over five separate weeks in Galway, Dublin and Roscommon.  The Roscommon Summer Project will take place at the Cuisle Holiday Centre in Donamon.   Full training is provided and experience is not essential but IASBAH are looking for caring, patient, hard working, and enthusiastic volunteers. The Volunteer Care and Activity Workers will be responsible for encouraging and supporting participants to take part in fun activities. They will work alongside nursing staff and occupational therapists in promoting independence skills.   The main theme of the Summer Project is independence which is achieved by focusing on personal development and confidence building, aiming to build self-esteem and social skills of participants.  Activities include occupational therapy, drama, music and arts workshops, and yoga to name but a few.
