Seeing the light in Knockcroghery

Councillor Domnick Connolly has called on Roscommon County Council to commission the light outside the community centre in Knockcroghery.  ‘I understand that the light has been put in place by the ESB and that it is now up to the council to commission the light,’ explained Cllr. Connolly. ‘This is an issue which has been on-going for some time and I now hope this will be resolved as soon as possible. The community centre is a widely used facility in Knockcroghery and it is vital that this light would become operational as soon as possible. ‘People are coming and going from this building on an almost nightly basis and the area just outside the community centre is particularly dark. In the interest of the safety of those using the building I would ask the council to look into this matter with a view to resolving this problem,’ concluded Cllr. Connolly.
