Seasons wraps up at Roscommon Races on Monday next

The curtain is set to come down on what has been a great season at Roscommon Racecourse, with the racing year wrapping up on Monday next, September 25th. The first race will kick off at 2.10 pm, when the Grade 3 Ballymore Group Irish EBF Kilbegnet Novice Chase is staged.

There has been plenty of rain over the last week or so, so ground conditions should be fine for what promises to be a great day of national hunt racing.

A high class Renewal is expected, with the race having been won by some top class horses. All the major yards will be represented in this year’s Renewal.

Looking back on the racing year, one of the stand-out moments has to be when jockey Ryan Moore won the Lenebane Stakes for Aidan O’Brien during his first visit to Roscommon Racecourse this season. He was incredibly accommodating to those looking for photographs and is a great ambassador for racing – as are all the jockeys and trainers at Roscommon Racecourse, who always have time for racegoers.

Roscommon Racecourse would like to thank all the racegoers for attending and everyone connected to every single horse that ran during the year. They also wish to extend a huge thanks to the stable staff, jockeys, trainers, and owners, without whom there’d be no sport.

Thanks are also extended to everyone in the IHRB, in particular Lorcan Wyer who works tirelessly to make sure the track is in great shape for all fixtures. Finally, thanks to all the wonderful staff who keep the show on the road. To each and every one of them, Roscommon Racecourse would like to say thank you sincerely for all the hard work during the year.

There have also been wonderful sponsors over the season, and Roscommon Racecourse wish to thank all of them, including next week’s sponsors: Conor Cassidy Cars, Thomas A Murray Bar & Lounge, Class Grass Ireland, the Ballymore Group, Roscommon On-Course Vets, and the Irish EBF, and sponsors of the best turned out prizes, Keen Print.

Roscommon Racecourse hope to see you all for the last fixture of the season on Monday. For more information, visit roscommonracecourse.ie, email contact@roscommonracecourse.ie, or phone 087 2203288.
