Show and sale of weanlings, Tuesday, September 8th: There was a good entry of excellent quality weanlings on offer, with a vibrant trade for both bulls and heifers resulting in a high clearance of lots. The top price of the evening went to the weanling pictured, weighing 415kgs and fetching €4,250 – an average of €10.24 per kilo. The average price of the bulls stood at €2.61 per kilo, which was well up on the comparative sale last year. Weanling heifers were also dearer per kilo on the previous year.

Dry cows, heifers and bullocks, Friday, September 4th: There were increased numbers on offer at last Friday’s sale, which included an excellent entry of super quality bullocks. Trade was brisk, with plenty of buyers sourcing stock resulting in a high clearance of lots. Bullocks averaged from €2.34 per kilo up to a max of €3.10 per kilo. Heifers averaged from €2.01 per kilo up to €2.70 per kilo. Dry cows fetched from an average of €1.83 per kilo up to €2.17 per kilo.

There is a special sale of heifers and general sale of bullocks and dry cows on Friday, September 11th, at 11 am. There are 75 pens on offer, with sales commencing ay 11 am. Intake will be from 7.30 am up to 9.30 am, with viewing by appointment from 10 am to 10.45 am. There is limited access to the ring for buyers only, and our online bidding facility with LSL is available. Gates close at 9.45 am.
There is a special sale of bullocks and general sale of heifers and dry cows on Friday, September 18th, at 11 am. Bookings will be accepted up to 5 pm on Thursday, September 10th.
Sheep sale: Wednesday, September 9th: This week, there was a large entry of sheep on offer with a similar trade taking place. Finished lambs made up to €121 for 51.5kgs. There were excellent quality ewe lambs on offer, with prices fetching as high as €130. Stag ewes made from €43 up to €128 per head. Please note all sheep must be tagged with a full yellow EID tag set. Sales continue on Wednesdays at 11 am, with intake from 8 am. Sheep must be penned by 10 am.
Sale of breeding ewes: Saturday, September 5th: The numbers on offer this week were slightly smaller than the previous, though a firm trade remained all round.
Sales continue for breeding sheep on Saturday next, September 12th, at 11 am. There will also be a Pedigree Charollais ram sale at 1.30 pm. Viewing time from 12 noon to 1.15 pm.
