Rossies face Tribesmen in championship opener
The Roscommon senior footballers will renew rivalries with Galway in the Connacht SFC semi-final in July after the championship draw was made on Monday evening. The match will be played at Dr. Hyde Park.
Meanwhile, Mayo will face Sligo on the other side of the draw, with the winners facing Leitrim in the second semi-final.
Roscommon and Galway have met in four Connacht finals in a row in recent seasons, with the Rossies winning twice in 2017 and 2019, and losing twice in 2016 and 2018. The teams are also set to meet in the Allianz National Football League Division One on May 23rd at Pearse Stadium.
Pádraic Joyce takes charge of the Tribesmen for his second season this year, while fellow Galwayman Anthony Cunningham is now in his third year in charge of Roscommon.
The fixtures and times will be finalised by the Connacht Council this week, with Sunday the 11th of July the most likely date for the match.
