Rossies continue winning streak to top the table

Allianz NFL Division One

Roscommon 1-12 Armagh 0-12

Roscommon produced another superb second-half display to overcome Armagh in a pulsating Allianz Division One match before 8,000 people at Dr Hyde Park.

The first half was a cagey and negative affair and Armagh looked the better side for most of the way.

Having played with the aid of the strong wind the home side were a point in arrears at the break, 0-8 to 0-7.

But Davy Burke’s men were transformed in the second half.

Three quick points saw them hit the front and the crucial score arrived in the 49th minute when Ben O’Carroll was fouled and Enda Smith scored the resultant penalty.

Roscommon hung on after that.

Twice Armagh reduced the margin to two but Ben O’Carroll’s injury-time point secured another thrilling win for Roscommon who are now clear at the top of the Division One table.
