In the week of the biggest football match in recent Roscommon GAA history, GAA President Aogan O’Fearghail turned the first sod of turf on the new Dr. Hyde Park development on Tuesday.
The redevelopment of the County GAA pitch is expected to cost in the region of €700,000 and be completed for 2017.
Mr. O’Fearghail was joined by Mick Rock, Connacht GAA, Brian Carroll, Roscommon GAA, Seamus Sweeney, Roscommon GAA and John Prenty, Connacht GAA.
Meanwhile, the Roscommon senior footballers are busy preparing for battle in the Connacht Senior Football Championship Final this Sunday against Galway in Pearse Stadium, Galway.
