RosFM to raffle heifer as station celebrates ten years on air

To mark ten years on air, RosFM Community Radio is holding a monster raffle, with a prize fund of almost €3,000.

The first prize is a top quality Charolais heifer or the cash equivalent of €1,300. Other prizes include cash sums, holiday breaks and fuel vouchers.

The raffle is in aid of the RosFM’s ongoing Disability Development and Training, with tickets costing only €5 or €10 for a book of three.

The draw will take place at the RosFM Studios on Friday, October 23, when RosFM will host an open day to mark 10 years of broadcasting a community radio service to Roscommon town and its environs.

At the launch of the draw, RosFM chairperson Bernard Kearney said that he was delighted for RosFM to have reached such an important milestone and he expressed his gratitude to all those who have supported and listened to RosFM over the years.

RosFM is funded by Pobal, through its Community Services Programme, but also relies on fundraising and commercial activities to fund the station.

Mr Kearney said that he hoped that “the community would support local members selling tickets in their respective areas.”

RosFM is available on the radio at 94.6FM and streaming live on the web at www.rosfm.ie
