The volunteers at RosFM are seeking the public’s support as they prepare to host a fundraising car wash event this Friday and Saturday (28th and 29th) from 10 am to 7 pm at Hannon’s Hotel on the Athlone Road.
RosFM is Roscommon’s only community radio station and broadcasts every weekday from 5 pm to 9 pm.
Martina Dockery co-presents ‘The Mixed Bag’ music show alongside Robbie Dwyer every Monday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm and she believes the radio station is a valuable addition to Co. Roscommon.
“This radio station has a disability ethos which is unique, and part of its remit is to allow for the training and participation of people with special needs.
“There is tremendous dedication and loyalty to RosFM among the volunteers at the station and a continued focus and commitment to providing quality radio programmes to support and publicise local events around Roscommon town and county,” she said. Martina says there is a constant focus on recruiting volunteers and that the radio station is a wonderful way to give back to the community. “We like to give back to the community and this is an ideal opportunity each week to be involved in something we enjoy and something that is very much part of the community of Roscommon on a Monday night and throughout the week. To all our loyal listeners and volunteers we say a heartfelt thank you for your continued support,” she concluded.
