The search for the Roscommon Rose of Tralee 2008 is now on and the committee are delighted with the tremendous response they have received over the past month. Applicants are reminded this week that they have until this Friday March 14th to get their completed application form in, as the committee will be unable to accept late applicants. The main sponsors of the event are Charlie O’Brien, O’Brien’s Pharmacy and Health Food Store in Roscommon town and Paddy Sweeney, Roscommon Retail Park, the committee is delighted to have Charlie O’Brien and Paddy Sweeney on board once again this year. The Roscommon Rose of Tralee committee was overwhelmed with the enormous response they have received also from local businesses who are providing an incredible number of prizes for the winning Rose which include, a designer ball gown from Dinah Modes Bridal (Castlerea), a tiara from Lauren Bridal (Ballinlough), a ball gown from Crowning Glory (Roscommon), perpetual trophy from O’Brien’s Pharmacy, designer shoes sponsored by Carrie Bradshaw, a beauty voucher from Louise’s Beauty Studio (Roscommon), a day outfit from Miss Mandy (Roscommon), a hair voucher from Aphrodities (Roscommon), an outfit from Wisdom (Roscommon), a pair of shoes and handbag from Pair’s Shoes (Castlerea), Flowers sponsored by Calla Florist (Strokestown), Jewellery sponsored by Mary Raftery Jewellery (Roscommon), and also, of course, a cash prize will be awarded on the night to the winner. This is to name just some of the businesses who have been so generous, an updated list of business and their prizes will be available on the night of the launch on April 10th in the Abbey Hotel and also on the Selection night on April 26th in the Abbey Hotel. The committee wish to sincerely thank all the businesses involved for their kindness and support throughout the years.
