Roscommon winners at Fleadh Cheoil 2022

This year’s Fleadh Cheoil, which took place from Sunday, July 31st to Sunday, August 7th, saw over 5,000 competitors play, sing, and dance for All-Ireland titles across 230 competitions in Mullingar

The standards were high and the music more than lived up to the expectations of judges who had a very difficult job choosing winners for each category and competition.

Roscommon winners included: Emma Benson, CCÉ An Céideadh, Roscommon (1st place in 8D Cruit/Irish Harp for Over 18s); Emily Ní Chatháin, CCÉ Elphin, Roscommon (3rd place in 3D Feadóg Mhór/Flute Over 18s); Diarmuid Pléimeann, CCÉ Baile Ros Comáin (3rd place in 50A Storytelling U-12s); Aoife Ní Chonghaile, CCÉ Roscommon (2nd place in 50B Storytelling for ages 12-15); Patrick Mullooly, CCÉ Athlone (3rd place in 50C Storytelling for ages 15-18); and Aoife Ní Chonghaile, CCÉ Roscommon (2nd place in 51B Scéalaíocht ages 12-15).
