Roscommon town set for ‘Super Easter Sunday’

Sundays don’t come much bigger than this Easter Weekend in Roscommon town! This Easter Sunday promises to be one of the most eventful days in recent Rossie memory as the annual Easter Parade will be followed by the huge Allianz Division One football match between Roscommon and Mayo.

The annual Easter Parade starts at the earlier than usual time of 12 pm in the town and promises to be a wonderful spectacle. The fact that the ‘Primrose and Blue’ are in action in Dr. Hyde Park at 3.30 pm should only add to the colour and atmosphere of this hugely-popular event.

Speaking of the Roscommon senior footballers, imagine the reaction of Mayo fans arriving in the town on Sunday to thousands of Roscommon fans already in party mode!

Last year’s parade saw an overgrown Spider Man making his way through the town so who knows what we’ll see during this year’s event.

Of course the fun doesn’t stop with the brilliant parade and hopefully a win over our noisy neighbours, as there will be music and entertainment in venues across the town on Sunday evening.

Roscommon town truly is the place to be this Easter Sunday, so get decked out in primrose and blue and support local businesses and clubs in the parade before roaring on the Rossies against Mayo!
