Trade people eagerly sought for this year’s trip, blocklayers, plasterers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters etc.  Effective living Party 1 of ‘Psychology for Effective Living’ by psychologist and author Michael Hardiman takes place in Vita House on Saturday 1st March 10 am to 5 pm, as part of the Psychology for Effective Living series. This workshop gives understanding about how self-image can develop throughout life and how to improve the relationship we have with ourselves and others.  Positive parenting A Positive Parenting course takes place in Vita House, Abbey Street, Roscommon on Thursdays at 8 pm. Illustrated lecture Roscommon Heritage Group is holding its annual illustrated lecture on ‘Two Historic Houses in South Roscommon’ on Thursday 28th February at 8 pm in Gleeson’s Townhouse, The Square, Roscommon. Everyone welcome. Entrance €5 with concessions for OAP’s / school children. Roscommon Heritage Group was founded in 1991 and holds regular meetings. Interested people may apply to join the Heritage Group after the meeting. Mote Park walk Margaret Gilleran, on behalf of the Irish Cancer Society, wishes to thank most sincerely everyone who so generously supported the 10k New Year’s Day walk in Mote Park. A total of €3,000 was raised. Gaels registration A registration night for U14, U16 and minor girls and boys for Roscommon Gaels will be held at the Hyde Centre on Saturday, 8 th March at 7 pm. New members are very welcome. Parents are urged to come along too. Refreshments will be served. The special guest speaker on the night is Fergal O’Donnell. The registration night for young boys and girls takes place in two weeks’ time. Comfort fund Castle Quilters are raffling a beautiful quilt in aid of the Sacred Heart Hospital Patient Comfort Fund.
