Bebo site designer sought Volunteers are being sought to update Vita House’s website and also to design a Bebo page for Vita House. If you feel that you have the expertise and the desire to give a few hours voluntarily to this project, please contact Margaret of Mary at Vita House on (090) 66 25898 or drop in for a chat.  Recent deaths Sincere sympathy is offered to the families of the following: Peter Lippert who died in Germany, brother-in-law of Patricia Macklin, Castle Street; Joseph Jody Conboy, 3, St. Coman’s Park, formerly Athleague; Mary Kilmartin, Cloverhill, sister-in-law of Marie Gallagher, The Spinney; Timmy Davis, Beechwood, Kilteevan, who died in Surrey, England. Mass broadcast Morning Masses on Sunday 25th May and Sunday 1st June will be broadcast live from RTE radio at 10 am.  Please note change of time from the usual 10:30 am Mass on these dates. Vigil Masses Sat. 24th & 31st May will be rehearsals for the morning Masses.  Guided prayer A week of guided prayer will take place in Roscommon parish from Sunday 25th Mary to Friday 30th May, for anybody aged 18 years and upwards. You can make this retreat while continuing your everyday life and work. Those who participate commit themselves to spend some time each day in prayer. This can be done at home or in any quiet place of their choice. They are also invited to meet with a Prayer Guide, Anam Cara or Soul Friend, each day to talk or to share. There are six of these on the team. Application Forms available in Porch of the Sacred Heart Church. Numbers confined to 18. Mass time Please note Mass on Saturday 10th May will be celebrated at 10 am instead of the usual 10:30 am to facilitate the First Holy Communicants. Rosary The Rosary will be recited in St. Coman’s Cemetery each Sunday during the month of May, commencing this Sunday at 4 pm. All are welcome to attend. Volunteer evening Would you like to make a difference to the lives of others? Have you ever considered doing some voluntary work and kept putting it off? Could you spare a couple of hours each week from your busy schedule to give something back to your community? If so, come along to the Volunteer Open Evening on the 15th May at 8 pm.   Cancer support There is no doubt that receiving a diagnosis of cancer can be shattering and life-changing. Yet many people survive and may live a positive and fulfilling life with cancer. If you or someone in your family is coping with cancer, come along and be supported by others with similar experience. Gaelscoil communion Pupils from the Gaelscoil will make their First Holy Communion on Saturday 10th May at 11 am in the Church.  Please keep them and their families in your prayers during the week. Youth club help Roscommon Youth Club is looking for parents to help supervise on the following dates: Fridays 9th; 16th and 23rd May. Please text your name and date available to (086) 869 3474.  Running for Ronan It’s that time of year again, when you have to get ‘Running for Ronan’ and help raise funds for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Fourmilehouse mother Marcella Gavigan is calling on the women of Roscommon to get behind the campaign and raise funds for research into the condition which her son was diagnosed with six years ago.
