A Transition Year (TY) student from Roscommon is a Solicitor of the Future after successfully completing the Law Society of Ireland’s innovative legal education programme.
Ben Hone from CBS Roscommon was one of 40 TY students that attended the popular week-long Solicitors of the Future programme at the Law Society in Dublin from February 17th to 20th 2026.
Delivered by leading legal experts, the immersive, activity–based programme featured practitioner–led workshops, guest speakers, courtroom exercises, and a dedicated careers seminar. In total, students from ten counties participated.
Places on this year’s programme were allocated by lottery, with 20% reserved for students attending socio–economically disadvantaged schools. It is designed for anyone interested in exploring a career in law.
