Roscommon Rose Rebecca Collins will fly the Primrose and Blue flag on national television tonight (Tuesday) when she takes to the stage on the second night of the Rose of Tralee International Festival.
The 24-year-old from Kiltoom will be interviewed by presenters Dáithí Ó Sé and Kathryn Thomas during tonight’s live programme, which begins on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player at 8 pm. Rebecca is number 30 in the overall running order.
There will be plenty of local interest in her appearance, with Rebecca also rated among the leading contenders to take the 2026 title.
Rebecca, the eldest of three children, is a Home Economics and Religion teacher and currently teaches at her former secondary school. She is also heavily involved in drama and sport, having appeared in productions including Sive, Steel Magnolias and Dancing at Lughnasa, while soccer has also been a major part of her life.
She was selected as Roscommon Rose earlier this year and has since represented the county at a wide range of events and community engagements. She has also become a Roscommon ambassador for Mary’s Meals.
Rebecca has spoken of her pride at representing Roscommon in Tralee, describing the experience as an opportunity to get to know even more of the county and the people, businesses and community groups within it.
The 2026 Rose of Tralee will be crowned at the conclusion of tonight’s programme.
