The new normal: Level 5 Lockdown begins
A number of members of the Roscommon senior football panel have been forced to self-isolate after a player tested positive for Covid-19.
The development will hamper Roscommon manager Anthony Cunningham’s preparations for this weekend’s National Football League Division 2 clash with Cavan and comes after the team’s trip to Armagh, where they secured a win that almost certainly ensures promotion to the top flight.
We can confirm that a member of the Roscommon senior football panel has tested positive for Covid-19 and that a number of other players, who were considered close contacts, have been forced to self-isolate.
The Roscommon People attempted to contact a number of Roscommon GAA County Board personnel on Wednesday night but no official comment was available as we went to press.
Meanwhile, Level 5 Covid-19 restrictions are now officially in place across the country as businesses and households in County Roscommon brace themselves for six weeks of lockdown.
The new lockdown comes as sixteen new cases were confirmed in the county as of midnight on Tuesday (20th), bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Roscommon to 647 since the pandemic began.
