Roscommon Pioneers told to ‘keep up the good work’

At the annual social night of the Roscommon town branch of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association (PTAA), held recently in Gleeson’s Townhouse, Roscommon, Cllr. Paddy Kilduff, Regional President of the Association, congratulated the Roscommon branch on organising such a successful function, and he encouraged all present to keep up their good work in spreading the message of temperance.     Speaking about the commitment and dedication of the Roscommon branch, he said their annual function was a resounding success year after year and this was a great tribute to them. He also remarked that it is important to hold such a social occasion, to get together, enjoy a nice meal, have a chat and celebrate the positive impact of being a Pioneer.   Cllr. Kilduff also especially remembered those who were in attendance at the last local function, but have since passed away. ‘I won’t name each individual here but we remember them especially tonight,’ he said.    Over fifty Pioneer members and friends attended the night which was organised by Roscommon branch members Sr. Lena, Tommie and Nan Keane and Peter Curran.
