There was drama aplenty in the final round robin Connacht MFC game between Leitrim and Sligo at Ballinamore on Saturday evening last. Leitrim only needed a draw to qualify for a semi-final meeting with Galway next month. Leitrim were leading by three points, 0-8 to 0-5, with one minute of extra-time left and were set fair for the semi-final. However Sligo scored 1-1 in the time remaining to snatch victory and dump Leitrim out of the competition. Final score was Sligo 1-6 Leitrim 0-8. This means that the semi-final line-up is Roscommon v Mayo and Sligo v Galway.
