Roscommon groups invited to put forward heritage projects for funding

Community and voluntary groups across Roscommon can submit project ideas for the Heritage Council’s Community Heritage Grant Scheme 2027.

The scheme supports projects that protect, conserve, celebrate and share heritage, with grants ranging from €800 to €25,000.

A new two-stage application process begins with a short expression of interest outlining the project, its heritage value, the need it addresses and its community benefits.

Detailed budgets, quotations and supporting documents are not required at this initial stage.

Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to submit a full application.

Projects must align with one of five themes: heritage at risk; biodiversity and nature restoration; traditional skills and conservation; digital heritage, access and storytelling; or diversity, equity and inclusion.

Expressions of interest close at 5pm on Friday, October 16. Shortlisted applicants will have until January 15, 2027, to complete the second stage.

Applications must be submitted through the Heritage Council’s online grants system. Guidelines are available at heritagecouncil.ie.
