AFL Division 1 (O’Rourke Cup): The game of the day was at Lisnamult where Pádraig Pearses came from two points down at half-time to pip the hosts by a point 1-8 to 0-10. The game was marred by a serious injury to Niall Carty who is recovering.

St. Croan’s are now on top of the Division 1 table after they continued their unbeaten run against Tulsk.

The Kilmore v Clann na nGael game was abandoned after Kilmore player Colm Garvey sustained a serious head injury but thankfully he is recovering well, according to reports.

Elphin and St. Brigid’s shared the points at The Orchard Park. Brigid’s led by 2-3 to 0-4 at half-time but a late Frankie Cregg goal helped the home side to a draw.

Western Gaels prevailed by 2-11 to 0-14 against Strokestown with James McDonald and Derek Moran getting the all-important goals.

AFL Division 2 (O’Gara Cup): Boyle were just too strong for Michael Glavey’s on Saturday evening last. Stephen Comer fired two goals for Glavey’s but Donie Smith’s two goals for Boyle helped them to a 4-10 to 2-12 win.

St. Faithleach’s put up a big score (0-23) defeating Éire Óg (2-7) at Ballyleague, with Ciaráin and Diarmuid Murtagh starring for the home side. Colm Lavin scored two penalties for Éire Óg.

Oran scored a very impressive 2-10 to 0-5 win against St. Dominic’s at Rockfield, the highlight being a great goal from Thomas Fetherston.

Meanwhile, Fuerty scored an impressive 3-13 in their win against Castlerea St. Kevin’s (0-15). Fuerty led 2-8 to 0-5 at half-time.

Junior champions Creggs also had a very impressive win against Western Gaels by 3-14 to 1-5. Former underage county star Noel Gately made his re-appearance in that match after two years out with injury and he scored a goal on his return

AFL Division 3 (Tansey Cup): There were good wins for St. Barry’s against Elphin and Ballinameen who had just a point to spare against St. Michael’s. Kilglass Gaels had six points to spare against Shannon Gaels in a high-scoring game and in another high-scoring match St. Aidan’s beat Clann na nGael by three points.
