
The action kicks off again on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player this Sunday, November 19th, as the McNamara family from Boyle, Co. Roscommon join the Penny Taylors (Meath), the Stratfords (Cavan), and the Mahers (Offaly) as they all take on some brand-new challenges in Ireland’s Fittest Family!
Roscommon family the McNamaras are a competitive bunch, with interests like boxing, marathon running, GAA, soccer… the list goes on! Among their competitors are the Mahers, who bring a unique blend of talents to the competition, with farmers, electricians, and county footballers and hurlers among their ranks; the Stratfords, who are no strangers to challenges as they thrive in mountain running, kayaking, and the pursuit of “absolute hardship”; and the Penny Taylor family, who are all about pushing their physical limits, with a passion for CrossFit, Olympic weightlifting, show jumping, and competitive swimming.
These fearless families will battle it out for two coveted places in the next round of the competition at a brand-new location – The Farm.
New presenter Laura Fox is on the hunt to find the nation’s Fittest Family. She’s not the only new kid on the block, as legendary athlete Sonia O’Sullivan will be joining Nina Carberry, Davy Fitzgerald and Donncha O’Callaghan to push the families to their limits and over the finish line for the coveted title and €15,000. The McNamara family will be coached by Nina, while Sonia will coach the Mahers, Davy the Penny Taylors, and Donncha the Stratfords.
