Macra na Feirme in the Northwest region recently announced details of the Silage competition which will run over the next few weeks in association with Aurivo Co Op and their Nutrias brand of animal feeds. Sample bag are currently being distributed through Macra na Feirme young farmer development groups.
The bag is accompanied by a simple application form, which must be returned in the envelope with the silage sample. Aurivo will test samples. Entrants will be contacted by Aurivo farm commercial specialists/nutritionists with their results and receive any nutrition advice that they require.
A young farmer information meeting will be held in December 2016 in a central location within the Northwest region to discuss the results.
This competition is open to Macra na Feirme young farmer members in the county of Roscommon and across the Northwest. The deadline for return of samples to Aurivo is Friday, 18th of November 2016.
