Roscommon footballers are into the FBD League final for the 10th year in a row after a nine-point victory against London on Saturday night. It was a very low-key affair and with Diarmuid Murtagh and Conor Cox sharp up front Roscommon scored six points without reply to establish a match-winning lead.
London did score a fine team goal in the 30th minute when Ciaran McKeon was on target and at half-time Roscommon led by 0-13 to 1-6. Both side ran their benches in the second half and the return to action of Keith Doyle and Andy Glennon (both of whom played well) is a positive for Davy Burke and his selectors.
It remains to be seen what the Roscommon management will have learned from this encounter as the start of the national league is now only two weeks away. Roscommon will now play Galway in the final back at the air dome on Friday night (7 pm). Final score: Roscommon 0-21 London 1-9
