Choirs across Roscommon are being encouraged to enter RTÉ lyric fm’s annual Choirs for Christmas competition.
The closing date for entries is midday on Friday, November 27th.
The competition celebrates choral groups from schools and communities across Ireland, with prizes in several categories.
The overall winning choir will receive €750, while awards of €200 are available for the overall runner-up and winners in youth, community, primary school, secondary school and contemporary Irish choral work categories.
Selected recordings will feature on ‘Weekend Classics with Claudia Boyle’ from December 5th.
Entries will also be available to hear through the competition’s online gallery.
The competition has been running since 1999, the year RTÉ lyric fm began broadcasting.
Entry instructions and full competition details are available through the Choirs for Christmas section of the RTÉ lyric fm website.
