Replay on Friday….is it advantage Clann now?

Abbey Hotel Roscommon LGFA Senior Championship Final

Replay: Kilbride v Clann na nGael on Friday in Ballyforan at 8.30 pm

Clann were probably the more frustrated of the two teams last weekend, but Kilbride battled the way great champions do and despite being below par they found a way to secure the draw.

That said, the initiative may well have swung the way of Clann now. They know that they have the measure of Kilbride and they will be determined to finish the job. Ruth Finlass, Megan Kelly, Kelley Colgan, Róise Lennon and Kayleigh Dunning will be hoping to match or better their performances from last Saturday.

Kilbride showed that experience counts for so much in club football in the drawn game. Niamh Shanager, Rochelle Mullaney, Siobhan Tully, Tara Taylor, Sinead Clabby and Fiona Tully will be hoping to lead from the front on Friday night.

I went for Kilbride to win the match last weekend on the basis of their firepower and experience, but now I’m not so sure. Clann look a very hungry side and they desperately want to win this title. I’m going to flip and predict that the Johnstown girls will be a point or two ahead when the final whistle blows.

Prediction: Clann na nGael
