Register your event for National Heritage Week 2023

National Heritage Week, one of Ireland’s largest cultural events, will run from Saturday, August 12th, to Sunday, August 20th, and if you are thinking of having an event, you must register it on heritageweek.ie/ by the 24th of July 2023 to ensure your event is included in Roscommon County Council publicity for the week. Events registered late cannot be guaranteed inclusion in the publicity around Heritage Week.

Looking ahead to this year’s Heritage Week, Heritage Officer with Roscommon County Council Nollaig Feeney is encouraging communities to support and get involved this year. “Last year, community groups and individuals organised over thirty events and projects all around Roscommon to celebrate National Heritage Week.

“These events included guided walks, tours, talks, exhibitions and kids’ activities. This is a great opportunity for groups to showcase their work and let people know what they have been working on over the past year. The Heritage Office can help publicise all events registered in the county and provide flags, bunting, etc. for your event”.

If you have any difficulty registering your event, please email your event details to heritage@roscomoncoco.ie and we can assist you. See heritageweek.ie for more information or follow #heritageweek2023 on social media.

National Heritage Week is supported by Roscommon County Council and the Heritage Council as an action of County Roscommon Heritage Plan.
