A novelty race night will be held in Spell’s Bar, Pound St., this Friday night 7th March at 9.30 pm, with all proceeds going to Romanian Orphans Volunteers Trust. Aodhain Egan and John Sharkey are part of a group of fifteen people from Ireland who are giving their time and effort and making the worthwhile trip to Romania to visit an orphanage on 10th April, 2008 to build a playground for orphaned children, some of whom have special needs. The building of this playground will enrich the lives of these children in so many different ways. John and Aodhan have organised a few fundraising events between now and the 10th April, the first of which being the race night in Spell’s this Friday. All of the group travelling have paid all their own costs and guarantee all moneys raised will go directly to the site in Romania. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
