Racecourse tribute to the late Fonsy Nolan

In a statement this week, the Board of Directors of Roscommon Racecourse paid tribute to the late Fonsy Nolan of The Spinney, Roscommon and formerly of Newtown, Roscommon and Ballygar, Co. Galway, who died at Roscommon University Hospital on Friday last.

The late Mr. Nolan is mourned by his wife Ann, daughters Mary and Clare, son James, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Paying tribute to a much-loved colleague, the Board statement read:

“Fonsy Nolan was one of the early members of Roscommon Race Committee and represented the racecourse in several roles, including President, over the years.

“Fonsy also fulfilled the duty of Local Steward at the racetrack on race days.

“Fonsy was a loyal, committed member of Roscommon Racecourse over several decades and will be sadly missed by the members of the racecourse and the racing public. May he rest in peace”.
