Wednesday 17th October 2007 is the 20th anniversary of the UN International day for the eradication of Poverty. To commemorate the day the Roscommon Women’s Intercultural project team have designed and created a magnificient 26 panel quilt which will be unveiled on Thursday, 18th October 2007 in Gleeson’s Townhouse and Restaurant, The Square, Roscommon Town at 12 noon. The Mayor of Roscommon, Councillor John Kelly, will be speaking at the event and everybody is welcome. Please come along to view this beautiful piece of work and to support the women who created it to raise awareness of world poverty. Refreshments and light lunch will be served.
