Quigley’s appointed Claas dealer for Roscommon

Quigley’s garage in Ahascragh, Ballinasloe, is now the main Claas dealer for Roscommon, Galway and Mayo. The appointment was made in November of 2006 and since then all at Quigley’s have been busy selling a wide range of Claas tractors, mowers and tedders. Seamus Quigley told Roscommon People that Quigley’s has been in operation since 1999 and was delighted to have been appointed main Claas dealers last November. ‘We stock the full Claas range, including tractors, balers, tedders and mowers,’ said Seamus. Asked what types of new tractors farmers are opting to buy, Seamus noted that the Claas Celtis (90 – 100 hp) is popular with farmers, while the Claas Ares (150 – 170 hp) is popular with contractors, as is the new Axion (160 – 250 hp), which was launched in January. ‘A lot of farmers in the region are interested in the Claas Celtis, particularly in the 90 – 105 horse power range and we have a lot of interest in them. Most of the contractors are opting for horse powers of 140 – 180.’ ‘We have sold 15 tractors since January and have three or four more in the pipeline. The advantage of becoming a main Claas dealer is that we have new tractors to offer to our existing customers. We were selling second hand tractors since 1999 and found that many farmers wanted new tractors and they were coming to us and we hadn’t new tractors to offer them.’ Claas has now taken over from Renault and Seamus noted that there are a lot of Renault tractors in Roscommon. ‘A lot of Renault customers are changing over to Claas,’ noted Seamus. Indeed, one reason why Quigley’s opted for Claas is the level of customer focus in the company and the emphasis which the company puts on retaining customers over a long number of years. Quigley’s are also main agents for Ruscon tankers and trailers, Stoll loaders, Fleming equipment and Lemkin ploughs and power harrows. They also stock all Renault parts and a hydraulic pipe-making service is available. Business is brisk at Quigley’s premises on the Tuam road in Ahascragh. On average the company sells sixty to seventy second-hand tractors each year and so always has an excellent range of second hand tractors in stock. Apart from selling new Claas tractors, Quigley’s has also sold 6′, 7′ and 10′ disc mowers as well as a number of Claas balers.  Many customers at Quigley’s come from the south Roscommon area and Padraig and Seamus are hoping to see even more Roscommon farmers among their clientele in years to come.
