Organisers of a protest against “the bombardment of Gaza and the killing of thousands of people” say up to 200 people attended the event in Roscommon town on Saturday last.
The event was organised by the IPCN (Irish Pakistani community network), and Kashmir Peace and Solidarity Council of Ireland.
Speakers from both organising groups, along with a representative of Castlerea Sinn Féin, called for an end to the killings and also for “the freedom” of Palestine.
Also speaking at the protest was Katie Cunningham from Strokestown Sinn Féin, the Roscommon representative for Ogra Sinn Féin.
