Prolific composer for Solstice Choir Workshop and Concert

Roscommon Solstice Choir is honoured to host a Liturgical Music Workshop with the renowned liturgical musician, composer, speaker, performer, author and clinician Tom Kendzia in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Elphin Street, Strokestown, on Saturday, May 14th, 2016, from 2 pm to 5 pm.

  If you are a member of a church choir, a choral group that performs liturgical music or a music enthusiast, then this is an opportunity not to be missed.

  For over 30 years, Unity award winner Tom Kendzia has travelled throughout the United States, Canada, Asia and the Caribbean. Since 2002, he has consistently graced Ireland with his music as a featured performer.

  He began parish ministry in 1977 and currently serves as music director at Christ the King Parish in Rhode Island where he has been since 1986.

  A prolific composer, Tom has over 30 recordings of liturgical and instrumental music including popular pieces such as Light of the World, Out of Darkness, Stand by Me, This is the Day, The Hands of God, Calling me Home, Be Not Afraid, Answer the Call, Like a River, Here I am Lord, Like a Shepherd, City of God, and Blest Be The Lord, etc. 

  His latest recordings include Get On Board with ValLimar Jansen and his newest album is Christ Within Me. 

  A number of his articles have appeared in NPM Magazine, Today’s Parish and Modern Liturgy.

  The workshop will be followed at 8 pm by a concert with Roscommon Solstice Choir and Tom Kendzia performing his works. The concert will be held in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Elphin Street, Strokestown.

  Tickets are €10 payable at the door and proceeds will go to Strokestown Parish Fund and the choir. All are welcome.
