Seán Ó Neachtain MEP was guest speaker at the recent meeting of Kilkerrin Branch IFA. Seán gave an overview of his work in the European Parliament. He spoke of the current issues concerning rural and agricultural communities, including the INTO negotiations, CAP, the Lisbon Treaty and turf cutting under the Habitats Directive. Seán was asked to assist in having the Farm Waste Management Scheme deadline extended past December 2008 and help get the REPS 4 payments issue resolved. The Branch would like to thank all who supported the Social on Friday 29th February.
