Met Éireann has warned that weather conditions conducive to the spread of potato blight are expected to continue across Connacht until this evening, Monday, September 7th.
The national forecaster said blight-favourable conditions developed in Munster on Saturday evening before extending into Connacht and Ulster on Sunday.
The advisory remains in place until Monday evening.
There are currently no general weather warnings in operation for County Roscommon.
For farmers and growers, the advisory means conditions may favour the development and spread of potato blight, particularly where crops remain vulnerable.
