A number of posts remain vacant at the e-Mental Health Hub in Castlerea almost two years on from the opening of the €2.6 million facility.
The vacancies were confirmed by the Department of Heath following a recent Parliamentary Question from Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane.
Speaking to the Roscommon People this week, Deputy Kerrane said: “It has been confirmed to me that five posts remain vacant for the Psychiatry of Later Life Day Hospital in the e-Mental Health Hub in Castlerea, with just two posts filled
“Three posts remain vacant in CAMHS Connect for young people, although I’ve been assured these are at an advanced stage of recruitment.
“Almost two years since the e-Mental Health Hub was opened and these services, particularly the Day Hospital for Psychiatry of Later Life, are still not staffed.
“It was not until after repeatedly raising the lack of services available at the hub last year that funding was put in place to begin recruitment, over a year after it was opened.
“I will continue to consistently raise this issue until these vital mental health supports are made available to those who need them”.
