Congratulations to the seven competitors from County Roscommon who competed in The National Ploughing Championships in Screggan, Co. Offaly recently.
The event attracted 280,000 visitors and 330 competitors, amongst them a team of seven members of the Roscommon Ploughing Association, competing in five different classes of showcase ploughing.
Pauline Lavin finished inside the top 10 in the Farmerette Category, taking 9th place. This was a tremendous achievement.
Other members of the Roscommon team included Paddy Beirne, who took part in the 3 Furrow Match Ploughing competition, James Coffey in the Horses Class and Seanie Warde in the 2 Furrow Vintage. Paddy Finnegan, Noel Moran and John Hanley all took part in the 2 Furrow Junior category.
