Pat Reid the hero for Creaton’s

Pat Reid proved hero for Creaton’s as his last-gasp win secured a win and bonus point for his side in this tit-for-tat clash in Ballinaheglish on Friday night. The youthful McDermott’s team had led 2-1 and 3-2 at but two Padraig Finan and Pat Reid wins now give Creaton’s a decent chance of taking that all important 4th position in the League. Sean Finan won the first game for Creaton’s completed with a 121 checkout – his third 100+ checkout of the League. Final score: McDermott’s 3 Creaton’s 4. Mac’s were always in control in this clash as they had their biggest win of the League crushing Kate’s on a 6-1 scoreline in The Station, Roscommon on Friday night. It was Kate’s second 6-1 defeat in the week, and it’s now certain that they will finish bottom of the table.    Krystof Wesolowski, Mick Kilroe, Stephen Victory, and Gerry Murphy all had 3-0 wins for the home side. Gordon Feeley and Robbie Dolan made it 6-0 with their wins but the potential whitewash was stopped by John Cullinane who beat Jason Hoare in the final game of the night.    Scores: K.Wesolowski 3 J.Finn 0; M.Kilroe 3 M.Connelley 0; S.Victory 3 B.Mannion 0; G.Murphy 3 D.Fleming 0; G.Feeley 3 N.Revins 2; R.Dolan 3 J.McIntyre 1; J.Hoare 0 J.Cullinane 3).  Flanagan’s, Castleplunkett 4 Murray’s, Knockcroghery 3. Flanagan’s ended Murray’s long unbeaten run on Friday, winning a tight match 4-3 in Castleplunkett. It was a high scoring encounter, with numerous scores over 100, and many legs fiishing in 18 darts or under.    Francis Hussey defeated  Paul Carton 3-1 in the first game, to give Flanagan’s the lead. It was a high-scoring game from the start, Hussey winning out as he kept up the tempo throughout the game.    James Reilly continued his unbeaten run in the league, to level the match, with a 3-0 win over Brian McCormack. Reilly wrapped up another high-scoring game with a 15 dart leg.    Mick Egan gave Murray’s the lead, with a 3-0 win over Aiden Fleming, in another high-scoring contest. Egan’s finishing gave Fleming no chance, taking only 4 shots to hit the 3 winning doubles. Padraig Kearney levelled for Flanagan’s on the night, beating Tony Lyons 3-2 in a tight and exciting game that could have gone either way. Pat Byrne restored Murray’s lead, defeating Martin Kearney 3-0. Byrne again gave a good display of high scoring and good finishing against an out-of-sorts Kearney.    Noel Ryan defeated Scobie Connaughton 3-0 to level the match on the night. Ryan hit crucial trebles in the game, while they deserted Connaughton when he needed them, to ease to victory. Gerry Owens defeated Wille Doyle 3-0 to give Flanagan’s the victory on the night.   There were two 180’s on the night, courtesy of Francis Hussey and Tony Lyons. Highest outshots on the night were 80 from Gerry Owens, and 70 from both James Reilly and Pat Byrne. County Teams named for The West Coast Challenge: The Roscommon’s Mens Team to take part in The West Coast Challenge, Intercounty Darts Tournament has been named.   They are Mick Egan, Paul Carton, Jimmy Reilly (all Murray’s), Patrick Tansey, Martin Fleming, Sean Fleming (Spell’s), Gerry Murphy, Mick Kilroe (Mac’s), Sean Finan (Creaton’s), David Concannon, Thomas Concannon (McDermott’s), Martin Murphy (The Elf Inn).   The Ladies are Tina McKeon, Deborah McKeon, Rachael McKeon, Phil Carney, Anita Murphy, Barbara Victory, Kathy Fleming and Corina O’Hara.   The Youths panel is David Concannon, Thomas Concannon, Gary Concannon, Mark Finneran, Kevin Fleming, Ray Finan, Shane McDonagh, Tomas Feeley.   The tournament takes place on Sunday next,  27th of January in The SouthCourt Hotel, Limerick. Check-in 11 am. Starting at 12 noon.
