Met Éireann have issued a status yellow ice warning for Ireland which comes into effect from 6pm this evening until 10am on Tuesday morning.
According to Met Éireann “Long clear spells will develop early tonight. Very cold with lowest temperatures of 0 and -4 degrees leading to a widespread frost with possible icy stretches. Wintry showers will move into northern coastal areas later, in mostly light northerly breezes.”
The outlook for the rest of the week continues with very cold weather expected overnight through the week with frost, ice and some possible wintry falls on higher ground.
