Olivia Costello selected to represent Ireland & Great Britain in prestigious event

Roscommon’s teenage golf sensation Olivia Costello, who has been going from strength to strength lately, has just been selected as part of a six-person team to represent Ireland & Great Britain in the Junior Vagliano trophy.

Olivia has been chosen alongside five other young golfers from Great Britain and Ireland to make up the GB&I Team for the prestigious competition.

The Vagliano Trophy is a women’s amateur international match between Great Britain and Ireland and the Continent of Europe. It was first played in 1959 and in 2011 it added the Junior Vagliano Trophy.

Both the Vagliano Trophy and the Junior Vagliano Trophy are being played over the same two days, from the 30th of June to the 1st of July, at Royal Dornoch situated in the Scottish Highlands.

This year’s competition will be the first time it has been staged since 2019
