Now Solstice Choir launch Christmas CD!

The Roscommon Solstice Choir, who are currently performing a series of festive concerts, launched their Christmas CD last weekend.

The launch of ‘Roscommon Solstice Choir – A Christmas Wish’, took place in Rooskey Parish Church on Sunday night.

The occasion was the first of five festive concerts which are being performed by the choir, which consists of over 100 members, all of whom give of their time and talent on a voluntary basis.

The new CD features a selection of much-loved songs and carols which are sure to delight listeners and create a very special festive mood.

It features the Solstice Choir’s versions of ‘When A Child Is Born,’ ‘Oh Holy Night,’ ‘The First Noel,’ ‘Silent Night’ and many more seasonal favourites.

‘Roscommon Solstice Choir – A Christmas Wish’, which is priced at €10, can be purchased from Solstice Choir members and also at any of the choir’s upcoming concerts. It is a beautiful production and would be an ideal Christmas gift.

Since being formed in 2013, this commuity choir has raised over €100,000 for charity, and proceeds from sales of the CD will of course also go to charitable causes.

“We had a lovely start to our concert series in Rooskey on Sunday night” James Hoban, Chairperson of Roscommon Solstice Choir, told the Roscommon People.

“Coming after our recent Pride of Place Award success, it’s been a great week or so for us.

“Now we’ve launched our new Christmas CD and we hope that people will buy copies and enjoy it! And we’d like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their ongoing support of the choir and to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas.”
