Northern Scór semi-finals

The first Scór na nÓg event of the 2007/08 season took place in Ballyforan on Friday night last and the following competitors will now compete in the Southern Final, which takes place in the Hyde Centre, Roscommon on the 14 th of December:   Figure Dancing: Roscommon Gaels & St. Dominics.  Solo Singing: St. Brigids (Niamh Minion) & St. Dominics (Cathy Dervan). Instrumental Music: Clann na nGael & Roscommon Gaels. Recitation: St. Aidans (Tina Carty) & St. Dominics (Blaithín Cox). Ballad Group: St. Dominics. Question Time: St. Brigids & St. Dominics. Novelty Act: St. Brigids & St. Dominics. Set Dancing: St. Dominics.    Mark McLoughlin was an excellent Fear on Tí and the National Anthem was performed by Aoife Tynan-Daly, accompanied by Tina Carty on the button accordion.   The second semi-final took place in Culleen Hall, Lecarrow on Saturday evening and the following participants will also take part in the Southern Final: Figure Dancing: St. Dominics & Roscommon Gaels. Solo Singing: St. Brigids (Niamh Leonard) & St. Dominics (Ciara Finneran). Instrumental Music:  St. Aidans & Padraig Pearses. Recitation: St. Dominics (Aileen Gillespie) & St. Brigids (Claire Leonard). Ballad Group: Padraig Pearses & St. Dominics. Question Time: St. Dominics & St. Aidans.  Novelty Act: St. Dominics.    The Bean on Tí on Saturday evening was Sylvia Kilcline, and Claire Murray sang the National Anthem. We would also like to thank the host clubs, St. Aidans & St. Dominics, who prepared the venues and supplied refreshments.   The first of the Northern semi-finals take place in Ballyleague on the 7 th of December. Pease note the change in venue. The second semi-final takes place in Boyle on the 8 th . Clubs will receive details of the venue draw over the next few days.    If for any reason a team feels that they will be unable to compete at their allotted venue they must notify Coiste Scór Ros Comáin within seven days. This will allow time for the club to discuss the issue with us. The decision of Coiste Scór Ros Comáin, following these discussions, will be final.
