The next Roscommon team manager should be ‘from within the county’ it was agreed at Monday night’s meeting of the county board. Sean Collins proposed that three people be selected to talk to prospective candidates. Pat Finneran proposed that in view of the very short time available, the executive should be allowed to make the decision to appoint somone until the 2008 championship is over. Anthony Flaherty (Athleague) asked about the possibility of Paul Earley, Marty McDermott and Donal Casserly being asked to continue until the championship is over this year. ‘Maybe Eamonn McManus and Gerry Fitzmaurice might be able to help them out’ he said. It was agreed that the executive would discuss the matter and come back to the board with a decision as a matter of urgency.
