Hospice Shine a Light appeal

Mayo/Roscommon Hospice invite you to participate in their Christmas appeal and sponsor a light on the Hospice Christmas Tree in Knock for someone you know, whether living or deceased.

  Special cards available at all pharmacies in Mayo and Roscommon, in Hospice shops and Knock Shrine. All names on the cards will be included in a Book of Remembrance and will be remembered at the Ecumenical Service in Knock in January. 

  The Tree-lighting ceremony takes place in Knock at 2 pm on Sunday, 3rd of December following a 5km memorial walk. All welcome. Contact 094-9388666.

Hospice Memorial Walk

The Mayo/Roscommon Hospice Memorial 5km Walk takes place on December 3rd in Knock at 1 pm to mark the beginning of the 25th anniversary of Palliative Care Services in Mayo and Roscommon.

  Registration is now open on Eventbrite or through the Hospice Office. Cost of registration is €15 per person and includes a souvenir t-shirt.

  All proceeds raised go directly to local Palliative Care Services. For more info call 094-9388666. Thank you for your support.

Ógra Fianna Fáíl AGM

The Roscommon Ógra Fianna Fáíl AGM will take place in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon on this Friday, the 3rd of November at 8 pm. All welcome.

Moore group to hold CPR Awareness Session

Moore Community Public Access Defibrillator Scheme Committee are holding a life-saving CPR awareness session at Moore Community Hall on Sunday, 12th of November at 12.15 pm.

  Members of the community are invited to attend to find out more about how to use defibrillators and administer CPR.

  This event is supported by the National Ambulance Service who will involve members of the community in getting hands-on experience of the steps needed to save a life.

  Moore Community Public Access Defibrillator Scheme have provided three defibrillators in the community which are there for people to use if someone suffers a cardiac arrest. These are located at Moore Community Hall, Clonfad Church and Camcloon National School.

  Please come along with your family and meet our community first responders and ambulance service personnel. Learn how to save a life, get hands-on experience of CPR, learn how to use a defibrillator device and sign up for certified training.

Family Christmas Weekend at Ardcarne Centres

Join with family, friends and neighbours for a Family Christmas Weekend at Ardcarne Garden Centre, Boyle & Roscommon Town, 11th and 12th November, 1-6 pm both days.

  Enjoy mulled wine and nibbles and help support local fundraising campaign Niamh’s Journey There, and your local Roscommon/Mayo Hospice.

  There’s loads of fun both days for all the family and a wonderland of the latest Christmas styles and décor at the newly-opened Ardcarne Garden Centre Christmas Shop, Boyle & Roscommon Town.

Public meeting on abortion issue

A public meeting on the following topic – ‘How abortion harms human rights’ – with Maria Steen and David Quinn will be held in Roscommon town later this month. 

  The meeting will commence at 8 pm on Tuesday, 14th of November in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon. All are welcome.

RosFM Table Quiz in Carthy’s

The local community radio station, RosFM (94.6) is holding a table quiz on Friday, 3rd of November at 9 pm in Carthy’s Pub, Castle St., Roscommon. A table of four is €40.

  RosFM is run by volunteers and has a new schedule from 11 am-7 pm from Monday to Friday. Your support is greatly appreciated.
