Macra’s new members’ night in Elphin

Calling all young people between the ages of 17 and 35! Roscommon Macra na Feirme is holding a new members’ night this Friday (November 2nd) at 9.30 pm in An Bothar Rua, Elphin. 

  Macra is an organisation for young people between the ages of 17 and 35. New members will meet young people from all over the country and can get involved in a wide variety of areas including sport, travel, agriculture, performing arts, community involvement and socialising. 

  Macra has members from all walks of life, with different interests and occupations, and its programme of activities reflects this.

Kiltrustan Sports Club table quiz

Kiltrustan Sports Club is holding its annual table quiz on Saturday, November 3rd at 9 pm in The Silver Eel, Grange, Strokestown. RSG’s Annual Memorial Mass

County Roscommon Disability Support Group (RSG) will celebrate its Annual Memorial Mass for all service users, families, friends, board of management and staff members in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Derrane at 12 pm on November 21st.

  Families and friends of the deceased are welcome to attend this Mass. Refreshments will be served at the Resource Centre, Derrane immediately afterwards. All welcome.

 

Roscommon Garden Club meeting

The next meeting of the Roscommon Garden Club takes place on Monday, November 5th at the Abbey Hotel at 8 pm. Guest speaker is Dominica McKevitt, head gardener at Ardgillan Castle, Dublin.

  Dominica is also involved with the Naul Gardening Club, Skerries Photographic Society and Balrothery History Association. This year Dominica and well-known florist Christopher White won a Silver medal at RHS Chelsea Flower Show for the Naul Gardening and Flower Club. This is a talk that is not to be missed.

 

Rosary recital in Kileenan Graveyard

The Rosary will be recited in Kileenan Graveyard at 2 pm and in Ardcarne Graveyard at 3 pm on Sunday, November 4th. All welcome.

 

 

Free iPad classes at Roscommon Library

Free iPad classes will take place at Roscommon County Library on Friday, November 2nd, Wednesday, November 7th, and Friday, November 9th. Classes take place from 10 am to 12 pm and 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

RSG Christmas Fair on November 25th

Ladies Lunch for Hospice

The Mayo/Roscommon Hospice Ladies Lunch event takes place on Sunday, November 25th at 1.30 pm in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon town. The day will include a warm punch, Prosecco and mince pie reception, followed by a four-course festive lunch with wine.

  The event will also include a fashion show, showcasing the latest looks for the party season ahead with music, raffle and lots of fun on the day. The guest speaker for the event is former President of Ireland, Mary McAleese. Tickets available online at www.hospice.ie. All are welcome.
